A well-organised and supportive small animal clinic in Capalaba is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to assist with surgical lists only across the above May dates.

This is a theatre-based role only, with no reception responsibilities and no sole charge, making it ideal for nurses who enjoy focused surgical and anaesthetic work in a calm, structured environment.

Typical Caseload

• Approximately 1–5 surgical procedures per day

• Occasional hospital patients

Team & Support

• Not sole charge

• Working alongside:

  • Two senior nurses

  • One junior nurse

Equipment & Systems

You’ll be supported with a well-equipped theatre, including:

• SpO₂ monitoring

• ECG (oesophageal, alligator clips)

• Oscillometric blood pressure

• Capnography

• Heated anaesthetic circuits

• Bair Hugger & blanket warmer

• IV fluids (pre-, intra-, and post-op)

• Dental radiography

• Ultrasound & x-ray

• Oesophageal stethoscope

• SmartFlow for workflow and medical records

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

• Strong surgical and anaesthetic monitoring skills

• Confident, organised, and collaborative

• Comfortable working in a theatre-only role
