Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Practice – East Sussex
Salary: £40,000 – £80,000 DOE | Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent

✨ An Independent Practice in East Sussex are looking for a confident, compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, experienced team.

GVC is excited to be working with this independent, community-focused clinic that prioritises patient welfare, staff development, and a calm, fear-free approach to veterinary care. The Practice

This practice opened 20 years ago and is one of only a few cat-only practices in the UK.  Every detail of the clinic has been designed with feline and rabbit welfare in mind, from consulting rooms that allow cats to move freely, to a recovery ward that ensures warmth, comfort, and security.
 

Facilities include:

• Dedicated surgical and radiography areas

• Dental suite with digital radiography

• Isolation area and pheromone diffusers for a calm environment

• Modern diagnostic equipment, including ultrasound, endoscopes, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, and syringe drivers for accurate fluid delivery
   

The team is highly experienced and supportive, with a shared commitment to exceptional patient care. You’ll be joining a collaborative, friendly environment where your skills and input are valued.

The Role

This is a hands-on position where you’ll work primarily with cats (99%) and some small furries. Responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality first opinion care and surgery

• Performing operations and consults (hours flexible)

• Offering advice and support to owners, tailoring treatment options to each patient

• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members

• Contributing to a positive, calm clinic culture
   

Hours & Salary

• Full-time or part-time options available

• No OOH duties except 1 in 4 Saturdays, 8am–2pm

• Salary bracket of £40,000-£80,000 FTE DOE

• 30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
