Are you an experienced vet ready to take the next step into leadership? This is an exciting opportunity to guide a talented, multi-disciplinary team across two respected RCVS-accredited practices in the heart of the Scottish Borders — where clinical excellence meets countryside living.
The Role

Position: Lead Clinical Director (Small Animal focus)

Hours: 40 hours per week, 4 or 5 days

Rota: 1 in 5 weekends OOH (time off in lieu)

Salary: Up to £85,000 DOE

Type: Permanent, Full-time
As Lead Clinical Director, you’ll provide strategic and clinical leadership across two well-established sites. Your role will include:

Overseeing clinical standards and patient care within the Small Animal department

Supporting and mentoring senior leadership teams (Clinical Nursing Managers, Practice Managers, Lead Vets)

Collaborating on business development and client engagement to continue the practices’ growth

Leading by example in clinical work, ensuring high standards and team support
About You
You’re an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for leadership and collaboration. You combine clinical confidence with the ability to motivate and guide your colleagues, fostering a positive culture and maintaining excellent client care.

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

Proven leadership or management experience

Excellent communicator with strong team-building skills

Confident in Small Animal clinical work
