Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon | Full-Time or Part-Time
GVC is assisting a well-established, multi-site small animal practice in recruiting an experienced Veterinary Surgeon. The practice provides high-quality first-opinion care with a varied caseload and opportunities for vets with interests in surgery, orthopaedics, and medicine.
The Role
The successful candidate will work in a supportive team environment with experienced colleagues, including certificate holders in medicine, dentistry, and ECC, as well as nurses holding advanced qualifications. Responsibilities include:

Routine consultations, surgical procedures, and case management

Participation in a 40-hour week full-time rota, with 1 in 8 on-call and one weeknight on-call every two weeks

Flexible and part-time working arrangements considered

Time off in-lieu for weekend and weeknight on-call shifts
The practice operates an in-house overnight RVN team, including ECC-certified nurses, to support on-call vets and in-patient care. An OOH telephone answering service ensures vets are not taking calls directly.

Collaboration with visiting specialists in ultrasonography and cardiology

Training practice affiliated with a veterinary university and registered as a nurse training facility

Salary: £40,000–£65,000 depending on experience
