Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Aberdeenshire, Scotland

A well-established, friendly mixed animal practice in Aberdeenshire is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and sociable team. This is an exciting opportunity for a vet who enjoys working across farm, equine, and small animal species, with a strong focus on work-life balance.

About the Role

  • Full-time position with a four-day working week and standard hours from 08:45 to 17:00.

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays.

  • Structured rota providing a guaranteed mix of farm, equine, and small animal work.

  • Set operating days included to allow time to work up cases to a high standard.

  • 15-minute consultations in manageable blocks as standard.

  • Out-of-hours (OOH) service provided in-house with 1:8 rota (increasing once the role is filled), with two vets on call for additional support. Vets are compensated with long weekends off and additional financial benefits for OOH work.

The Team & Facilities

  • Experienced and supportive veterinary and nursing team.

  • Modern and comprehensive equipment across all species: equine and small animal video endoscopes, sector and linear ultrasound scanners, high-quality small animal ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental and mobile equine), and more.

  • Weekly clinical meetings for case discussions and team collaboration.

About You

  • Interest across all areas (farm, equine, and small animal) is desirable, but you will have the freedom to develop your preferred area of interest.

  • A proactive, client-focused approach and strong clinical skills.

  • Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, supportive environment.

  • CPD actively encouraged and supported.

  • Salary: £40,000–£60,000 per annum
