Lead Veterinarian – Take the Next Step in Your Career

A well-established, purpose-built small animal practice is seeking a passionate and experienced veterinarian to join the team as a Co-Lead Veterinarian. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership position within a busy, collaborative, and well-equipped hospital.

About the Practice

The practice has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality veterinary care and offers a diverse caseload covering medicine, surgery, and advanced diagnostic work. With a large and loyal client base, the environment suits a vet who enjoys variety and challenge.

The Co-Lead Veterinarian will work alongside the existing Lead Vet to share leadership responsibilities, support the veterinary team, and help guide clinical direction. An interest in nuclear medicine, orthopaedic surgery, or diagnostic imaging would be a bonus, though not essential – training is available for those eager to expand their skills.

What’s on Offer

  • Leadership role within a large, modern GP hospital

  • Supportive, team-focused culture with 40 staff, including 10 vets

  • Exposure to a varied caseload and advanced services including:

  • Complex dentistry

  • Nuclear medicine (training provided)

  • Trigger point therapy

  • Ultrasound, X-ray & dental imaging

  • Wildlife care, boarding, and puppy preschool

  • Excellent facilities: 6 consult rooms, 2 theatres, in-house Idexx, gamma camera suite, and up-to-date technology (Ezyvet, Smartflow, Cubex, RocketPacs)

  • Access to leadership training via the ‘Drive’ program

  • Competitive salary, super, CPD allowance, corporate perks (Fitness Passport, store discounts)

  • Backing of a supportive veterinary group with access to a broad clinical network

    About You

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in small animal practice

    • BVSc, DVM, or equivalent (eligible for registration in Australia)

    • Skilled in mentoring and supporting junior veterinarians

    • Confident working in a busy environment with varied cases

    • Interested in developing leadership, people management, and business skills

If you’re an experienced veterinarian ready to lead, collaborate, and work with an engaged and diverse caseload – we’d love to hear from you!
