The Role This clinic is seeking an experienced Companion Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the dynamic and supportive team in Remuera, Auckland. This role offers a balanced mix of routine surgeries, dentals, and consults, with opportunities to pursue interests in complex soft tissue and orthopaedics to complement the team's skills. You'll work closely with fantastic, compliant clientele bringing a varied caseload and collaborate with a friendly, experienced team to deliver exceptional companion animal care in a rewarding, collegial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing routine surgeries, dentals, and consults for 100% small animal caseload.
- Handling a varied caseload with opportunities for complex soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures.
- Building strong relationships with compliant, appreciative clients in a low-stress environment.
- Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including in-house lab, Ultrasound, digital x-rays, and surgical suite.
- Collaborating with the supportive team in daily consults, surgeries, and shared lunchroom discussions.
- Maintaining accurate records and promoting cat-friendly, low-stress patient care.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current veterinary registration in New Zealand (essential).
- Experienced veterinarian with a particular passion for surgery.
- Strong clinical skills in routine surgeries, dentals, and consults.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
- Interest in complex soft tissue and orthopaedics as a perfect complement to team interests.
