Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Gloucestershire

Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE
Location: Gloucestershire, South West England
Job Type: Permanent, Full or Part Time

Are you an experienced Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking for a supportive and progressive team in a stunning rural location? This opportunity offers the best of both worlds – a friendly, close-knit practice community with the Cotswolds, Regency Cheltenham, and the Forest of Dean all within easy reach.

About the Role

You’ll join a well-established, RCVS-accredited practice with an excellent reputation across Gloucestershire. This is a dedicated farm-only team operating from a purpose-built hospital that also houses a small animal department, giving you access to a wider network and collaborative environment.

The role is ideal for a confident farm vet who enjoys routine dairy work alongside a varied caseload of beef, sheep, smallholder, gamebird, and export work. The practice radius is tight, ensuring less time on the road and more time on farm. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to clinical discussions and farm health planning.

About You

  • MRCVS with proven experience in farm animal practice (unfortunately not suitable for new graduates)

  • Confident in dairy, beef, and sheep work

  • A supportive team player keen to collaborate and share knowledge

  • Full UK driving licence essential

Flexible working patterns can be considered for the right candidate.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £65,000 FTE (DOE)

  • 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays

  • £1,750 CPD allowance + CPD/training support

  • RCVS, VDS, and two professional memberships paid

  • Company vehicle provided

  • Enhanced parental leave and company sick pay

  • Annual pay reviews and clear career progression

  • Focus on employee wellbeing and work-life balance

Join a team described by its members as “like a family” supportive, collaborative, and passionate about providing excellent farm veterinary care.
