Farm Veterinary Surgeon – Scottish Borders
A well-established mixed practice in the Scottish Borders is seeking an experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and enthusiastic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a vet who enjoys providing high-quality farm animal care while developing their clinical skills. Full-time and part-time applications are welcomed.
About the Role

Primarily focused on progressive beef and sheep farms, providing routine services such as pelvimetry, AI, bull testing, pregnancy scanning, blood sampling, and emergency work.

Opportunity to work with pedigree herds and flocks. Confidence in herd and flock health planning is essential.

Farm-only out-of-hours rota, shared equally among the team.

Structured support and mentorship available from certificate holders and colleagues enrolled in advanced training.
The Team & Facilities

Experienced and approachable colleagues with a mix of certificate holders and vets studying towards certificates.

Modern farm practice equipment including phase contrast microscopy, Pulsator-V, linear and curvilinear ultrasound scanners.

A friendly, sociable team with regular social events, dog walks, and opportunities to join local clubs and outdoor activities.

Salary up to £65,000 FTE, depending on experience
