Global Veterinary Careers is proud to be working exclusively with an independently run small animal practice based in North Lincolnshire. This modern, well-equipped clinic has established an excellent local reputation and is now seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead their dedicated team through the next exciting phase of growth.

About the Practice & Location:
The practice is purpose-built, air-conditioned, and equipped with excellent facilities to support a high standard of care. Located within easy reach of local transport links, shops, and green spaces, it offers the perfect balance between professional opportunity and lifestyle. The surrounding area combines the convenience of a thriving town with access to beautiful countryside and coastal escapes within a short drive.
As an independent practice, decisions are made locally, ensuring that every member of the team has a voice and the freedom to shape how the clinic operates.

About the Role & Team:
This is a flexible position, open to both full and part-time applicants. The role involves shared Saturdays, with no on-call, no out-of-hours, and no Sunday working, allowing for a true work-life balance.
As Head Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll take an active role in both the clinical and strategic development of the practice. You’ll work closely with the management team to maintain high clinical standards, mentor colleagues, and help guide the continued success of the practice.
You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive, and close-knit team consisting of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, a student nurse, a veterinary care assistant, and experienced client care staff. The team pride themselves on providing exceptional care and a welcoming environment for both clients and colleagues.

About You:
The ideal candidate will be confident in routine surgical and medical cases and comfortable taking sole charge when required. You’ll have a genuine passion for leadership and a collaborative approach to mentoring others. An interest in surgery or further qualifications is welcome, though not essential.

You’ll also bring:

  • A strong clinical background with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
  • A proactive and progressive mindset
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship available if required)

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £85,000 DOE
  • Flexible working options (full or part-time)
  • Generous CPD allowance with certificate funding encouraged
  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA)
  • Private healthcare and pension scheme
  • Relocation supports available (UK or overseas)
  • Visa sponsorship (A+ rated sponsor)
  • Excellent career development opportunities within an independent environment

To Be Considered:
If you’re an experienced veterinary surgeon looking for a leadership role where you can influence, inspire, and make a lasting impact within an independent practice, we’d love to hear from you.
