Rest Your Paws is New Zealand’s leading in-home palliative care and euthanasia service, dedicated to providing compassionate, meaningful end-of-life experiences for pets and their families. We are expanding our Auckland team and seeking caring, motivated Veterinarians to help meet growing demand for our services.
About the Role:
One veterinarian will be completing training in September and commencing work in October, but we are still seeking approximately five additional vets across Auckland to provide flexible weekday and weekend coverage.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in palliative care, client communication, and education. There is also the option for a full-time salaried position, which would initially focus on business development, education, and Lunch & Learn sessions with local clinics while the caseload builds.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-home euthanasia and optional palliative care consultations

Guide families through end-of-life discussions with empathy and professionalism

Build relationships with local veterinary clinics and contribute to education initiatives

Represent Rest Your Paws’ mission and values within the Auckland veterinary community

Optional: participate in business development, outreach, and community awareness
Requirements:

BVSc or equivalent with full NZ veterinary registration

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience

Excellent emotional intelligence and communication skills

Confident working independently with remote team support

Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
