The Role – Lead Veterinary Surgeon:

As Lead Vet, you’ll provide clinical leadership and direction for the team, ensuring exceptional standards of care for clients, patients, and colleagues.
You’ll work closely with the Practice Manager to drive clinical excellence and optimise the practice’s operational and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the veterinary team, supporting clinical development and growth.
Deliver outstanding client and patient care, maintaining strong client relationships.
Ensure compliance with all clinical, operational, and regulatory standards.
Support ongoing professional development through mentoring and collaboration.
Work closely with the Practice Manager to maximise clinic performance.
Contribute to practice strategy and development, sharing best practice and innovation.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • MRCVS registration
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in UK small animal practice
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills
  • Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities
  • A passion for high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in decision-making
