Veterinary Surgeon & Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Essex
Are you looking to join a friendly, progressive small-animal practice with great clinical variety and a supportive team? We’re looking for two Veterinary Surgeons to join our growing team in , Essex. One experienced General Practice Vet and one Lead Vet to help guide and support a talented team, including a new graduate.

About the Practice

Independently owned, RCVS-accredited small animal practice with a sister site nearby for additional support

Friendly and stable team: 3 Vets (including a new grad), 4 RVNs, 1 Student Nurse, 2 VCAs, and excellent support staff

Varied caseload including dogs, cats, small furriers, and exotics (one vet holds a special interest in exotics)

Visiting certificate holder in small animal surgery and orthopaedics

Well-equipped facilities: digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, multiparameter monitoring, and full surgical suite

Supportive of ongoing development and CPD, including certificates
The Roles
🐾 Veterinary Surgeon (GP Role)
-
Ideal for a vet with some post-graduate experience looking to develop further in a supportive setting

Full or part-time considered
-
Typical hours: 9am–7pm, 3–4 days per week
-
1 in 4 weekends on a shared rota
-
No out-of-hours or on-call duties
-
Collaborative environment with plenty of surgical exposure and mentoring available
🐾 Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Suitable for an experienced vet ready to take the next step or already in a senior role

Expected to provide clinical leadership, mentor junior vets, and maintain high clinical standards

Excellent support from the wider team and sister branch

Salary up to £100,000 (DOE, full-time equivalent)
