Veterinary Surgeon – Full-time/Part-time, No OOH – East Essex, UK

Global Vet Careers is assisting a modern, well-established veterinary clinic in East Essex to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon. This role is suitable for both early-career vets and experienced practitioners looking for a supportive, family-oriented team.

Salary: £40,000–£60,000 pro rata (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time or part-time, with flexibility; no out-of-hours work

About the Clinic

The clinic is RCVS-accredited and has been recently renovated, offering modern, well-equipped facilities across two branches. The main branch features:

• On-site laboratory, x-ray, and ultrasound

• Two theatres

• Separate cat and dog wards

• Dedicated dental suite including dental x-ray

The second branch is smaller but deeply connected to its community and easily accessible from the main site. The practice has been recognised for excellence in staff wellbeing and workplace culture.

The Role

• Full-time (4–5 days/week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays) or part-time options available

• Minimum 15-minute consultations, with flexibility for longer appointments

• Opportunity to undertake 1+ operation days per week

• Location options: full-time primarily at the main site with some branch work; part-time can be based solely at the smaller branch

• Support for certificates and CPD development

The Team

You will join a friendly, sociable, and supportive team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Nurses, Animal Care Assistants, and Receptionists. The clinic is proud to be a training practice for veterinary nurses and promotes a collaborative, family-style culture.

Location

Based in East Essex, the main branch is in a bustling seaside town with shops, restaurants, and a beautiful beach. The second branch is just 20 minutes away and offers easy access to coastal walks and water sports. Both locations are within reach of Colchester and London (1.5-hour train).
