Veterinary Surgeon | Small Animal Practice | West Sussex, UK

Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon seeking a rewarding opportunity within a supportive and progressive team? We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled vet to join a busy small animal practice, providing high-quality medical and surgical care to a varied caseload.

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for delivering excellent clinical care to patients, building lasting client relationships, and working collaboratively within a supportive clinical team. The ideal candidate will be confident in general practice and surgery, with an enthusiasm for continuous learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Perform a range of surgical procedures, from routine neutering to more complex operations.

  • Administer vaccinations, medications, and preventative treatments.

  • Work closely with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold the highest standards of clinical documentation.

  • Advise and educate pet owners on preventative health, nutrition, and general wellbeing.

  • Keep up to date with modern veterinary techniques and best practices.

Requirements

  • MRCVS or equivalent qualification (essential).

  • Previous experience in a clinical practice setting (desirable).

  • Confident in small animal medicine and routine surgery.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A proactive approach to continued professional development.

  • Laboratory experience in diagnostics or analysis is an advantage.
