Veterinary Surgeon – Supportive Team, South London
GVC are assisting a well-established small animal clinic in South London that is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a practice known for its strong team culture, varied caseload, and high clinical standards.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position working a 4-day week with 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital. The role would particularly suit a vet with an interest or experience in ultrasound, although all areas of clinical interest are encouraged and supported.
You’ll be joining a close-knit team of three experienced Vets, supported by a fantastic nursing team, a dedicated front-of-house team, and a proactive Practice Manager—allowing you to focus on what you do best: delivering exceptional patient care.
The Practice
The clinic is well-equipped and thoughtfully designed across three spacious floors, including:

Digital X-ray and in-house laboratory

Ultrasound facilities

Three consult rooms and two theatres

A dedicated prep area

Comfortable, modern staff room for downtime
The practice offers a diverse and interesting caseload, giving you the chance to develop your skills and special interests in a supportive environment. One of the senior vets is currently working towards a surgery certificate and has a passion for exotics, ensuring a dynamic and educational setting for all team members.

Located in South London, the clinic enjoys excellent transport links to Central London and beyond, making it easily accessible by public transport and ideal for those seeking a lively yet community-focused area to work in.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and surgical procedures

Provide excellent communication and care to clients

Maintain strong compliance with regulatory and operational standards

Prepare tailored treatment and care plans with transparent costings

Mentor and support team members, fostering a positive clinical culture

Support and encourage nurse-led consults and procedures
About You

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

Confident in both surgery and consultations

Strong communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach

Keen to continue learning and developing clinically

Previous experience mentoring colleagues or supporting nurse consults is desirable
