Clinical Director – North West London – Up to £100K

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to become Clinical Director at a brand-new, purpose-built small animal clinic opening in North West London. This is your chance to shape a new practice from day one—leading, inspiring and building a high-performing team in a modern, beautifully designed environment.

The Opportunity

As Clinical Director, you’ll take responsibility for clinical quality, team leadership and overall clinic performance, spending around 80% of your time in clinical work while guiding the practice toward excellence. You’ll work closely with the wider leadership team and directly support the veterinary team, Nursing Director and Practice Director.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

• Lead the delivery of outstanding clinical care.

• Ensure the team works to their full qualifications.

• Promote evidence-based medicine and continuous improvement.

• Oversee clinical governance, audits and CPD.

• Identify and develop new clinical opportunities.

Business Performance

• Drive client acquisition and membership growth.

• Oversee local clinic strategy: HR, recruitment, H&S, marketing, client care.

• Manage budgets, P&L awareness and performance KPIs.

• Ensure exceptional client communication and complaint resolution.

Leadership & People

• Be the figurehead of the clinic—leading by example.

• Support, develop and line-manage the Practice and Nursing Directors.

• Hold regular 1:1s, PDRs, and team meetings.

• Foster a positive, inclusive and wellbeing-focused culture.

Wellbeing

• Promote a respectful, supportive working environment.

• Identify and address wellbeing concerns early.

• Encourage open communication and the use of safe reporting tools.
