GVC is assisting an independent, hospital-based veterinary practice to recruit a First Opinion Veterinary Surgeon. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive, close-knit team with access to advanced referral-level facilities. Ideal for a vet who is confident in consultations and keen to develop skills in surgery and imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct consultations, routine medical and surgical cases at a high standard

• Collaborate with a supportive team of vets, nurses, and reception staff

• Work alongside certificate holders in surgery, dermatology, and imaging, with access to advanced hospital facilities including MRI, CT, ultrasound, DR X-ray suite, video endoscopy, and three theatres

• Contribute ideas to improve workflows and patient care

• Utilise protected admin time and tailor your diary to suit your working style

Requirements:

• RCVS registration

• Confident in first opinion medicine, consultations, and routine surgery

• Strong communication and client-focused skills

• Motivated, proactive, and keen to develop skills with access to advanced referral facilities

Working Pattern:

• 4-day working week

• 1 in 7 Saturdays

• No out-of-hours work

• Diary flexibility and protected admin time
