An excellent opportunity has arisen for a confident and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and growing small animal practice in Streatham, Greater London. This is an ideal role for a vet seeking clinical autonomy, a supportive environment, and the chance to make a real impact within a close-knit team.
The Role:
You’ll work alongside a dedicated Lead Vet, an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse, and two Veterinary Care Assistants, all focused on delivering the highest standard of care to patients and clients. The role offers a perfect balance between independence and support, with access to Medivet’s wider clinical network when needed.
Rota & Hours:

Full-time: 40 hours per week

Flexible weekend options: 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital

No out-of-hours work required
The Practice:
Set on a single, spacious floor designed for efficiency and comfort, the practice features:

Two consultation rooms and a dedicated surgical theatre

Ultrasound, dental x-ray, and in-house laboratory

Separate dog and cat waiting areas and kennels

A friendly, community-focused environment in a vibrant South London neighbourhood with cafés, restaurants, and green spaces nearby
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure clear client communication

Manage admissions, discharges, and treatment plans

Work confidently in sole charge when required

Mentor and support junior team members
-
Uphold high standards of regulatory and operational compliance
Requirements:
-
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
-
Minimum of 2 years’ UK small animal GP experience
-
Confident working independently and in a small team setting
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills
-
A proactive, client-focused approach
