Are you an experienced veterinarian ready to step into a true leadership role?
Looking to drive clinical standards, mentor a team, and work in a fully equipped, purpose-built clinic?
Ready for a position where your efficiency, professionalism, and impact are genuinely rewarded?

We’re representing a large, privately owned veterinary clinic in South Brisbane, seeking a confident and experienced Lead Veterinarian to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who loves both clinical excellence and people leadership, and is motivated by both high-quality medicine and operational efficiency.

About the Role

As the Lead Vet, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and lifting clinical standards while supporting a highly skilled team.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading by example in medicine & surgery

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior vets

  • Driving workflow efficiency and appropriate billing

  • Supporting high customer service standards

  • Coordinating monthly vet meetings

  • Assisting with client escalations and disputes

  • Working collaboratively with 3 other vets and 6 nursing/support staff

You don’t need memberships, just strong clinical ability, efficiency, leadership confidence, and a genuine team-first mindset.

Clinic Highlights

This clinic is purpose-built and well-resourced, offering:

  • Digital X-ray

  • Ultrasound

  • Full IDEXX suite

  • Blood gas analysis

  • Large treatment spaces

  • Skilled nursing team (6 support staff)

  • 3-vet team plus visiting specialist orthopaedic surgeons

They are happy to support skill development, but vets need to build and bring in their own case load to grow in the areas they’re passionate about.

Salary & Rewards

  • Base salary: $130K

  • Bonus structure: previously taking total earnings to ~$150K

  • Collaborative, supportive leadership environment

Roster

  • Full-time hours with strong work/life balance culture

  • Saturday shifts include 2 vets + 3 support staff

  • 1 in 2 Saturdays (8am–1pm)

Who We're Looking For

  • Solid foundation in medicine and surgery

  • Confident, efficient, and experienced GP vet

  • Excellent communication and customer service

  • Strong leadership capability

  • A team player who genuinely enjoys supporting others

  • Someone who can motivate, influence, and set the tone for clinical standards

  • Recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine that meets Australian registration standards

  • Full working rights in Australia (citizen, PR, or appropriate visa with no restrictions)

If you’re ready to step into a meaningful leadership role where you can grow, influence, and be financially rewarded for your impact, I’d love to chat.
