Veterinary Surgeon – North East, UK
💼 Full-Time | 💰 £40,000–£55,000 FTE | 📍 Sunderland & Newcastle

We are seeking a confident and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive small animal team in the heart of the North East. The role will primarily be based at a newly refurbished small animal practice, with one day per week sole-charge, consult-only at a nearby South Shields site.

The Boldon practice is a modern, purpose-built hub with:

• 4 consultation rooms and 2 theatres
• Prep rooms, dental suite, and x-ray facilities
• In-house laboratory and ultrasonography
• Recently introduced laparotomy spays

The practice culture prioritises a cosy, family environment where both clients and pets feel comfortable and cared for. They do not currently have capacity for new graduates, they welcome VetGDPs who are confident in neutering and lumpectomies in cats, dogs, and small furries, with a supportive team of 5 vets and 7 RVNs to guide your development. Emergency care is provided during opening hours, but there is no out-of-hours requirement, as clients have access to a nearby emergency hospital.

Role Details:

• Full-time: 37.5 hours over 4 days (part-time considered)
• 1:4 Saturdays, 9am–3pm
• No out-of-hours commitment
• Visa sponsorship considered
• Salary: £40,000–£55,000 FTE, depending on experience
