A large, well-equipped mixed-animal veterinary hospital in Central Queensland is seeking a Locum Veterinarian for flexible 3-month (minimum) blocks, with the option to stay longer. The clinic is open to both equine-focused veterinarians and mixed-animal vets who may prefer to take on more small-animal caseload — the role can be tailored depending on the candidate’s strengths and preferences.

This is an excellent role for an experienced vet seeking meaningful work across equine, reproduction, and general practice cases, supported by a large multi-vet team. With the region's busy and varied caseload, there is ample scope for growth, clinical development, and ongoing seasonal or long-term arrangements.
Key Details:

Commitment: Minimum 3-month locum blocks (longer stays welcomed)

Days: 4–5 days per week (flexible)

Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (earlier finishes possible during reproductive season)

Requirements:

BVSc or equivalent with QLD Veterinary Registration

Preferably 3+ years’ experience (equine vets strongly preferred)

Confident with either equine medicine/repro or mixed-animal practice

Comfortable with some sole charge

Strong communication and teamwork skills
