An RCVS-accredited, purpose-built veterinary hospital is seeking an experienced Surgical Veterinary Surgeon to join a large, skilled clinical team. The hospital offers advanced facilities, including on-site CT, and manages a varied and complex surgical caseload.

The Role

• Permanent position (full-time or part-time)

• Salary: £60,000–£75,000 (pro rata), dependent on experience and qualifications

• Fixed day off per week

• No regular out-of-hours duties

• Primarily hospital-based with one operating day at a branch practice

• Weekend rota: 1 in 4

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, advanced, and emergency surgical procedures

• Advanced procedures to include TPLO and patella luxation (mentorship available if required)

• Accept surgical referrals within scope of competence

• Post-operative care and case management

• Work closely with nursing and support teams

• Support and mentor junior vets, including VetGDP

• Maintain CPD and clinical best practice

Requirements

• MRCVS registered

• Significant surgical experience

• Postgraduate certificate (PgC) in surgery or working towards one preferred

• Orthopaedic experience desirable

• Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

• Compassionate, professional approach to patients and clients
