Salary: up to £65,000 DOE + welcome bonus

An established, multi-site veterinary group in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Veterinary Surgeon to take a key leadership role within a well-equipped hospital environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet with a strong medical or ECC bias who enjoys clinical leadership, complex case management, and developing others.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving medical standards, supporting clinical governance, and contributing to the ongoing development of a large, experienced veterinary team. The practice offers a varied caseload, strong referral exposure, and access to advanced diagnostics and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex medical cases from admission through to discharge

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the wider veterinary team

  • Support clinical governance, protocols, and high standards of patient care

  • Interpret diagnostics confidently and make sound clinical decisions

  • Contribute to mentoring, case discussions, and team development

  • Maintain excellent client communication and case continuity

About You

  • Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong medical and/or ECC expertise

  • Medical or ECC certificate holder, or working towards one (or equivalent experience)

  • Confident clinical decision-maker in a fast-paced hospital environment

  • Comfortable supporting and guiding colleagues at varying experience levels

  • Committed to high standards of clinical care and professional integrity

Facilities & Clinical Environment

  • Purpose-built hospital with CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and dental X-ray

  • On-site middle-tier referrals and advanced medical case exposure

  • Minimum 15-minute consults

  • Separate cat and dog areas; Cat Friendly accreditation

  • Large, experienced vet and nursing team with certificate holders

Working Pattern

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • Flexible rota options available to support work–life balance

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £65,000 DOE
