Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal Practice

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a progressive, well-equipped small animal practice in Nottingham? GVC is assisting a modern, purpose-built practice that prides itself on high clinical standards, early diagnostics, and a genuinely supportive team culture.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident vet who enjoys case continuity, preventative care, and ongoing clinical development within a collaborative environment.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality veterinary care, managing a varied caseload, and supporting pet wellbeing from diagnosis through to treatment outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing preventive healthcare, consultations, and surgical procedures

Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical and surgical cases

Following treatment plans through with care and consistency
-
Working closely with vets, nurses, and reception colleagues
-
Maintaining a strong focus on patient welfare and client communication
About You
We’re ideally looking for:

A Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years’ experience, including at least 1 year in UK practice

A strong interest in early diagnostics and case continuity
-
A commitment to continuous professional development
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
The Practice
You’ll be based in a purpose-built, spacious veterinary practice with excellent facilities and a well-established team. The practice supports learning at all levels and has a strong track record of developing both vets and nurses.
Current team structure includes:

5 Veterinary Surgeons

6 Registered Veterinary Nurses

5 experienced reception team members
Several vets and nurses are currently working toward certificates, with strong encouragement and support for further clinical development.
