As part of this initiative, we’re partnering with Let’s be S.M.A.R.T., a pioneering animal welfare organisation based in Greece, to help find a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join their compassionate team.
About the Role
Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. operates two modern and welcoming cat rescue shelters in Athens, Greece. They are seeking an experienced and caring Vet Nurse to join their team and play a hands-on role in the daily running of the shelters.
You’ll oversee day-to-day animal care, administer medication, coordinate veterinary treatments, maintain medical records, and support both staff and volunteers to ensure the highest level of welfare for the cats in their care.
This role offers the chance to combine your veterinary nursing experience with a meaningful purpose in one of Europe’s most beautiful settings.
Key Responsibilities

Provide daily feeding, hydration, and monitoring of all cats in care.

Administer medications and maintain accurate health and treatment records.

Assist with veterinary appointments and implement treatment plans.

Coordinate and support volunteers working across the shelter and community projects.

Manage the smooth daily operation of the shelter and maintain a safe, caring environment.

Uphold high standards of animal welfare and cleanliness at all times.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working with animals (veterinary, shelter, or rescue background preferred).

Is passionate about feline welfare and dedicated to improving animal lives.

Is organised, reliable, and comfortable leading by example.

Enjoys collaborating with a diverse and international team.

Is flexible and willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

Holds a valid driver’s licence (an on-site Peugeot SUV is available for transport).

Has a valid permit to live and work in Greece.

Speaks fluent English (Greek is an advantage).

Has basic computer and social media skills (preferred).
