Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 DOE / FTE

GVC are assisting a well-established small animal practice in Nottinghamshire that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical bias to join their friendly, close-knit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys surgery, values teamwork, and is keen to play a key role in the ongoing development of both clinical standards and junior colleagues.

The Opportunity

You will be joining a supportive and experienced team consisting of 3.5 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Nurses, 2 Veterinary Care Assistants, and 4 Receptionists, working within a purpose-built, well-equipped small animal practice.

The practice is modern and fully equipped, offering excellent facilities to support a varied and interesting caseload, including:

  • Digital X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • ECG
  • Ultrasonic dental equipment
  • In-house biochemistry
  • Microscopy
  • Fully equipped operating theatre and surgical facilities

The practice is conveniently located close to major road links and within easy reach of Nottingham city centre, making it ideal for commuting and lifestyle balance.

The Role

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9:00am – 12:00pm)
  • No routine out-of-hours
  • Opportunity to lead on surgical cases and case development
  • Active involvement in mentoring and supporting junior vets

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong surgical bias with confidence across a wide range of procedures
  • Ideally experienced with emergency and critical care cases
  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a team
  • Keen to mentor and support less experienced colleagues
  • Passionate about high standards of patient care and continuous improvement

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience / FTE)
