Registered Veterinary Nurse – Independent – Berkshire

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 DOE | 4 or 5-day week | Full-time, Permanent

✨ An established independent veterinary practice based in Berkshire are looking for a passionate RVN to join their friendly, growing team.

GVC is working with a well respected independent practice seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys a varied caseload and being fully involved in theatre, nurse consults and inpatient care. With genuine flexibility around working days, strong clinical facilities and support for development, this is an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to progress within an independent setting.
 

The Practice

This practice is an RCVS-accredited Small Animal General Practice which is also partnered with a local college for veterinary nurse training and offers excellent facilities including:

  • In-house laboratories with Idexx analysers

  • Radiography 

  • Ultrasound, ECG and blood pressure monitoring

  • Microscopy and urine analysis

  • EZVet Pro system 

  • Dedicated nurse consults and cat-only appointments

You’ll be joining a supportive clinical team of 5 vets, 3 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 PCAs, alongside experienced non-clinical staff.  This role has been created due to continued practice growth.
 

The Role

A varied, hands-on RVN position working across three branches, with responsibilities including:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care across consults, theatre and wards

  • Supporting surgeries and anaesthetics

  • Running nurse clinics

  • Monitoring inpatients pre- and post-operatively

  • Assisting with diagnostics and imaging

  • Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients

  • Contributing positively to a collaborative team culture
     

The practice is very open to supporting areas of clinical interest, and Clinical Coaches ; or RVNs keen to train as one, would be particularly welcomed.  Although this is a bonus and not a necessity. 
 

Hours & Salary

  • Full-time, permanent position

  • Flexible 4 or 5-day week

  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–1:30pm)

  • No overnight OOH (covered by Vets Now)

  • Salary: £28,000–£32,000 DOE
