What You’ll Do

  • Deliver evidence‑based nursing care aligned with established clinical protocols.
  • Participate in nurse consultations, supporting routine care, preventative health, and client education.
  • Carry out general anaesthetic monitoring, ensuring accurate observation and record keeping.
  • Support clinical workflow through screening procedures, including sample collection and patient assessment.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive clinical notes and documentation.
  • Provide theatre support, including preparation, instrument care, and maintaining sterile environments.
  • Assist veterinary surgeons during invasive and non-invasive procedures, ensuring smooth case flow.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment, including disinfecting equipment and surgical spaces.
  • Manage stock levels and maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Provide clients with clear guidance on post‑treatment care, preventative health, and routine procedures.

What They Need From You

  • RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse or eligible for registration.
    Criteria: Active or pending RCVS registration and ability to undertake core RVN duties.

  • Clinical Competence – ability to deliver safe, consistent nursing care across inpatient, outpatient, and theatre settings.
    Criteria: Experience with anaesthesia monitoring, nursing procedures, and clinical record keeping.

  • Client Communication – ability to convey clinical information clearly and confidently.
    Criteria: Examples of supporting clients during routine consults or aftercare discussions.

  • Team Collaboration – ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
    Criteria: Experience assisting vets and coordinating with colleagues during procedures.

  • Technical Confidence – ability to work with clinical systems and adapt to new technologies.
    Criteria: Previous use of practice management systems or similar digital tools.

  • Adaptability & Initiative – ability to work independently when required while maintaining compliance with protocols.
    Criteria: Examples of following clinical guidelines and participating in workflow organisation.
