Who They Are
This is a large, multi‑branch small animal practice based in South Manchester, supported by a central Tier‑3 standard hospital and an in‑house referral team. The group is recognised for delivering high clinical standards, with extensive diagnostic and surgical capabilities available across its sites.
The hospital is equipped with a wide range of advanced technologies, including CT, MRI (via visiting service), Doppler echocardiography, endoscopy (rigid and flexible), digital radiography, dental imaging, ultrasound, electrocautery, laparoscopy, and fluoroscopy. A dedicated out‑of‑hours team is based onsite, ensuring continuity of care without the need to transfer patients to external providers.
The surrounding area offers excellent access to the Peak District, Lake District, Manchester city centre, and convenient national transport links—supporting a healthy work–life balance for clinicians living locally or commuting.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver first‑opinion consultations, preventative care, and medical assessments across a varied caseload.
- Perform routine surgical procedures, with support available for progression into more advanced skills.
- Manage occasional sole‑charge shifts, applying sound decision‑making and evidence‑based practice.
- Utilise the group’s advanced diagnostic facilities for thorough case work‑ups.
- Communicate clearly with clients, providing well‑structured treatment plans and follow‑up guidance.
- Collaborate with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and the 24‑hour clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow and continuity.
- Participate in a rota including weekends on a rotating basis and occasional late evening shifts, all supported by an in‑house OOH team.
- Work a 4‑day week within a full‑time contract.
