Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal – Devon/Cornwall Region – Up to £60,000

A well-established small animal practice in the Devon/Cornwall region is looking to welcome an additional Veterinary Surgeon as part of its continued growth. This is an opportunity to join a progressive, clinically focused team that values high standards of care alongside a genuine work–life balance, all within easy reach of coastlines and countryside.

The Practice
The practice operates across multiple well-equipped sites and has a large, experienced veterinary team supported by a highly skilled nursing group. Facilities include dedicated prep rooms and theatres, dental suites, imaging including X-ray and ultrasound, in-house laboratory, endoscopy and laparoscopic equipment, with further investment ongoing. The practice works to a high clinical standard and is progressing towards RCVS Hospital status.

Clinical interests are actively encouraged, with advanced practitioners and certificate holders across areas including medicine, anaesthesia, pain management, exotics, ophthalmology and behaviour, alongside further certificates in progress. The team is also involved in undergraduate veterinary teaching and places a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication and quality clinical decision-making.

The Role
This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys small animal general practice and values working as part of a positive, engaged team. The practice welcomes applications from vets who are motivated, collaborative and committed to delivering excellent patient and client care.

The practice runs its own out-of-hours service with a fair and structured rota:

  • Approximately 1 weekend in 8, with the following Monday off

  • 1 in 8 Saturdays, with plans to reduce as the team grows

  • Saturdays are based at the main hospital site (8:30am–5:00pm)

  • Maximum of 4 nights on call per 4-week period

  • Full RVN and veterinary support for inpatients

Salary & Benefits
