Are you a Veterinarian who feels most at home in theatre?
Do you enjoy the rhythm of a well-run surgical day, from first incision to smooth recovery?
Looking to join a clinic where surgery is properly supported, well-equipped and genuinely valued?

We’re representing a long-standing, privately owned veterinary group in North West Brisbane that is seeking an experienced Surgical Veterinarian to join their team.

About the Role

This is a surgery-focused position across a group of established small animal clinics offering medical, surgical, dental, palliative, rehabilitation and advanced services.

The majority of complex medical and surgical cases are handled at the Arana Hills site, giving you access to a strong caseload and the facilities to match. You’ll work alongside experienced GPs, visiting specialists and a highly capable nursing team who understand theatre flow and anaesthetic safety.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Performing soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures

  • Managing surgical work-ups and case planning

  • Overseeing anaesthesia protocols alongside experienced nurses

  • Supporting advanced procedures and visiting specialist cases

  • Working up cases with in-house diagnostics including pathology and imaging

  • Providing clear, compassionate client communication around surgical plans and outcomes

This role would suit a vet who enjoys surgery as a core part of their week and values consistency, quality and teamwork.

Why You’ll Love This Clinic

  • Privately owned, community-focused veterinary group

  • Over 20 years serving local pets

  • Well-equipped facilities including in-house pathology, digital X-ray, ultrasound, laser and dental radiography

  • Strong emphasis on high clinical standards and continuity of care

  • Supportive, welfare-focused leadership

  • Exposure to rehabilitation, acupuncture and advanced services

  • A genuinely collaborative culture where nurses are confident and proactive in theatre

What We’re Looking For

  • BVSc or equivalent with registration in Australia

  • Confident in routine soft tissue surgery; orthopaedic experience highly regarded but not essential

  • Strong surgical decision-making and case management skills

  • Calm, organised and proactive approach in theatre

  • Excellent client communication and team collaboration

  • Full working rights in Australia

Salary & Hours

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Flexible working arrangements considered

  • Full-time preferred, part-time considered for the right surgical candidate

If you’re a vet who genuinely enjoys surgery and wants to work in a well-supported, well-equipped environment where standards matter, we’d love to have a confidential chat.
