An award-winning, family-owned group of three independent small animal hospitals in the Greater Springfield area, just 30 minutes from Brisbane, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the growth and day-to-day performance of their hospitals.

The Opportunity

This role focuses on keeping the operational engine running smoothly across three hospitals. You will work closely with leadership and frontline teams to ensure systems, workflows, and people are aligned so that the clinics operate efficiently and sustainably.

The Operations Manager plays a key role in connecting day-to-day realities with strategic planning. You will help identify opportunities for improvement, support teams to work effectively together, and ensure operational decisions are implemented successfully.

You will also provide clear reporting on operational performance, helping leadership track workflow, team wellbeing, and service delivery outcomes while identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency and consistency across the group.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across three hospitals to ensure smooth, consistent workflows

  • Identify and address operational pressure points, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks

  • Strengthen collaboration between veterinary, nursing, customer care, and leadership teams

  • Develop and implement practical systems such as SOPs, checklists, and handover processes

  • Work alongside clinical and nursing leaders to ensure staffing and resources align with demand

  • Support alignment across all sites so teams feel connected and supported

  • Foster a culture of clarity, feedback, and continuous improvement

Business & Performance

  • Contribute to planning around service capacity, utilisation, and sustainable growth

  • Support performance discussions using operational metrics and workflow data

  • Participate in operational decision-making related to service delivery, pricing, and resource allocation

  • Ensure new initiatives and operational changes are implemented effectively

About You

This role would suit an experienced operations leader who enjoys developing people and improving how organisations function.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in operations leadership, ideally within veterinary, healthcare, or a multi-site service environment

  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, and building accountability

  • A practical and solutions-focused mindset

  • Confidence working with operational data, schedules, and workflow planning

  • Excellent communication skills across diverse teams and personalities

  • A genuine interest in strengthening systems, service delivery, and workplace culture

  • Alignment with a values-driven approach to leadership and care
