A client we are representing is opening a brand-new small animal clinic in Ormeau on the northern Gold Coast in May 2026 and is seeking a Clinical Lead Veterinarian to help establish the clinic from day one.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership position at the start of a new practice. The clinic has been fully refurbished with modern equipment and thoughtfully designed spaces, with a clear vision centred on high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a positive, sustainable team culture.

About the Clinic

The practice has been designed to support excellent clinical care and efficient workflows, ensuring veterinarians have the time and resources to properly work up cases and deliver high standards of patient care.

From opening, the clinic will operate with:

A key part of the clinic’s model will be wellness-based care programs that support preventative medicine and build long-term relationships with clients. These programs encourage proactive healthcare, improve client compliance, and allow the veterinary team to manage cases more effectively, resulting in better patient outcomes and more rewarding clinical work.

The Role

As Clinical Lead Veterinarian, you will play a key role in shaping the clinical standards, team culture, and overall direction of the clinic.

This role allows you to remain clinically hands-on while contributing to leadership and strategic decisions, with support from experienced leadership mentors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring the veterinary team

• Establishing and maintaining high clinical standards

• Supporting thorough case workups and clinical decision-making

• Helping implement preventative and wellness-focused care programs

• Contributing to clinic workflows, protocols, and systems

• Working alongside leadership to support sustainable clinic growth

About You

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in small animal practice

• A passion for mentoring and supporting other veterinarians

• A strong commitment to high-quality medicine and thoughtful case management

• Interest in understanding clinic operations and business performance

• Motivation to help build a positive and collaborative clinic culture

Previous leadership experience is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate.
