About the Laboratory

Established in 2021, this independent and growing veterinary diagnostic laboratory was founded to deliver high-quality, personalised pathology services to the veterinary and para-veterinary communities across the Perth metropolitan area. Comprehensive diagnostic services include:

The caseload is predominantly companion animal focused, with a small component (~10%) involving exotics and zoo species.

The organisation is committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace culture that promotes diversity, equality, and mutual respect.

The Role

You will join a team of two experienced clinical pathologists and approximately 15 staff in total, including an operations manager, laboratory scientists, and technicians. As a smaller laboratory, the team takes a highly personalised approach and maintains excellent relationships with referring veterinarians.

The ideal candidate will have a positive, collaborative attitude and enjoy professional interaction and consultation with colleagues and clients.

This position offers:

  • Full-time, part-time, or locum options
  • A collegial, supportive working environment
  • High-level supervision available for junior or early-career specialists
  • Support for candidates working toward board certification or memberships

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a recognised expert in clinical pathology and will:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or equivalent qualification registrable in Western Australia
  • Preferably hold board certification in Clinical Pathology (ACVP or ECVP)
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering outstanding diagnostic service
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be comfortable consulting directly with veterinary clients

Candidates at varying stages of experience are encouraged to apply, including those seeking mentorship toward certification.

Salary & Benefits

An attractive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with experience, including:

  • Salary up to $200,000 + superannuation
  • Conference allowance
  • Relocation assistance (if required)
  • Potential contribution toward visa and private health insurance for international applicants
  • Opportunity for future partnership

Expressions of interest are welcomed from candidates seeking full-time, part-time, or locum work.

If you are looking to join a modern, relationship-focused diagnostic laboratory where your expertise will be valued and your work will have meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
