The Opportunity

Looking for a nursing role that offers true variety, clinical exposure, and a supportive hospital environment?

We’re working with a well-established, modern veterinary hospital in Berkshire that offers a genuinely diverse caseload alongside a structured, supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who enjoys hands-on nursing, inpatient care, and developing their clinical skills ; all within a setting that balances responsibility with support.

The Practice

This is a large, purpose-built veterinary hospital with a strong reputation for high standards of patient care and team collaboration.

  • Busy first-opinion hospital with varied caseload
  • Spacious, modern facilities
  • Strong team structure including experienced vets and nurses
  • Dedicated inpatient care overnight
  • Supportive and well-organised clinical environment

The practice also operates as a training practice, offering opportunities to become or continue as a Clinical Coach, making it ideal for nurses looking to support and mentor others.

The Role

This is a true all-round nursing role, offering exposure across all key areas of the hospital:

  • Theatre and surgical support
  • Inpatient care and recovery
  • Kennels and ward management
  • Dispensing and pharmacy work
  • Client interactions including admissions and discharges

You’ll be part of a team that encourages clinical involvement, autonomy, and development, rather than limiting nurses to one area.

OOH & Night Duties (The Reality)

The out-of-hours element is designed to give nurses experience without constant pressure:

  • Night duties focused on inpatients only
  • After 9pm (weekdays) / 5pm (weekends), calls are diverted to an external provider
  • Opportunity to rest overnight with a dedicated duty room
  • On-call responsibility limited to inpatient care

Hours & Rota

The rota is structured across a variety of shifts, including:

  • Theatre, inpatient care, kennels, and dispensing shifts
  • Night duties
  • Weekend shifts

The rota is designed to ensure fair distribution of shifts and appropriate rest periods, including structured time off around night and weekend work.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competetive Salary DOE
  • Opportunity to develop into / continue as a Clinical Coach
  • Supportive team and structured environment
  • Exposure to a wide and varied caseload
  • Ongoing CPD and development encouraged

About You
