Veterinary Surgeon – Internal Medicine FocusÂ
Join a leading small animal hospital in North East London, offering advanced diagnostics, a large supportive team, and a strong focus on internal medicine. Salary up to £75,000 + excellent benefits.
The Opportunity
We’re recruiting for a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in internal medicine to join a well-established, large GP hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who has completed (or is currently working towards) a certificate in internal medicine and is looking to develop within a highly supportive, well-equipped environment.
You’ll play a key role in delivering investigative and diagnostic support, working closely with an experienced team of internal medics and surgeons.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high standards of evidence-based clinical care
- Manage a varied caseload with a strong focus on internal medicine
- Carry out consultations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
- Utilise advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound, endoscopy, imaging, and lab testing
- Participate in the consulting and medical rota
- Work collaboratively within a large multidisciplinary team
- Maintain compliance with RCVS guidelines and medicines legislation
About the Practice
This is a large, modern veterinary hospital providing first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral services to a wide network of branch practices.
You’ll have access to:
- State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including CT and in-house laboratory
- A highly experienced team, including certificate holders in multiple disciplines
- A collaborative environment with strong clinical support
The team includes approximately:
- 25 Veterinary Surgeons
- 27 RVNs + 14 SVNs
- VCAs and a dedicated front-of-house team
Rota & Hours
- Full-time, average 40 hours per week
- 4-day working week
- 1:3 Saturdays and 1:6 Sundays
- Up to 2 bank holidays per year
- Light on-call rota (approximately 1 in 2 weeks, last resort only)
Salary & Benefits
- £50,000 – £75,000 depending on experience
- 6.6 weeks annual leave (including bank holidays)
- £2,000 CPD allowance + 5 paid CPD days
