Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Supportive, Progressive Small Animal Practice

Hampshire
Full-Time | From £30,000 DOE

The Opportunity

Looking for an RVN role where you’ll be genuinely supported, able to use your nursing skills properly, and join a team you’ll actually enjoy being part of?

GVC is working with a modern small animal practice in Hampshire that is looking to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to its friendly and forward-thinking team.

This is a great opportunity for an RVN who wants more than just a standard nursing role. You’ll be joining a practice that places real value on its nurses, encourages professional development, and offers a varied caseload where your skills can be used to their full potential.

For nurses considering their next move, this role offers the things that matter most: a genuinely supportive team, modern facilities, opportunities to develop, and a practice environment where you can see yourself settling in and progressing.

The Practice

This is a purpose-built, 100% small animal practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient care and excellent client service.

The team is described as friendly, approachable and down-to-earth, with a real focus on working collaboratively and creating a positive environment day to day. For someone weighing up multiple opportunities, that team culture is a big part of what makes this role stand out.

Clinically, the practice is very well equipped and continues to invest in its facilities and services. Current equipment includes:

  • High-spec GE Vivid iq ultrasound
  • Cardiac and abdominal ultrasound
  • Multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring
  • ECG
  • K Laser
  • In-house Idexx laboratory
  • Digital X-ray including dental X-ray
  • Endoscope
  • Tonopen
  • Blood pressure monitors
  • Infusion pumps and syringe driver
  • Bair Hugger
  • Capnography
  • Fully equipped operating theatre
  • Dedicated dog, cat and isolation wards

The practice is also expanding further, with plans to add an Intensive Care Unit, making this an exciting time to join.

The Role

This is a full-time RVN position, although part-time may also be considered for the right person.

The role offers a varied and engaging caseload, including:

  • Theatre work
  • Radiography
  • Dental procedures
  • Inpatient care
  • Nurse-led clinics
  • General nursing duties

The practice actively encourages its RVNs to make full use of their clinical skills, so this would suit someone who wants to be hands-on, involved, and able to grow rather than feel limited.

There is also scope for development in areas such as clinical coaching, making this a strong option for someone who wants progression and long-term opportunity within a supportive setting.

Hours and Salary

  • Full-time
  • 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • Fair and balanced rota
  • Salary from £30,000
  • Salary open depending on experience

Benefits

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • CPD allowance and support
  • Career development opportunities
  • Paid RCVS and VDS memberships
  • Pension
  • Generous holiday allowance:
    • 5.6 x average weekly hours
    • Increasing to 6.6 x after 2 years’ service
  • Additional day off for your birthday
  • Team-building days and social events
  • Colleague discount

About You

This role would suit an RVN who is:

  • Passionate about veterinary nursing and patient care
