We’re opening a brand-new, purpose-built veterinary clinic in London, and are looking for an experienced Clinical Director to lead, inspire, and shape the future of this exciting new practice from day one.
This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership, autonomy, and the chance to build a high-performing team in a beautifully designed environment focused on exceptional patient and client care.
The Role
As Clinical Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in the overall success of the clinic across clinical standards, team leadership, and business performance.
You’ll spend the majority of your time in practice (around 80% clinical), while also leading and developing a motivated team and driving the clinic’s growth and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Deliver the highest standards of patient care through strong leadership and team engagement
- Promote evidence-based medicine and lead by example
- Oversee clinical governance, audits, and continuous improvement
- Support and develop the clinical team through training and CPD
- Ensure excellent teamwork and utilisation of all team members’ skills
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and develop the veterinary and wider practice team
- Line manage key team members including Practice Manager and Head Nurse
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and team meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture
Business & Strategy
- Drive client growth and membership engagement
- Lead local clinic strategy including marketing, recruitment, and operations
- Oversee key areas such as HR, health & safety, and client experience
- Manage budgets, KPIs, and financial performance
- Ensure accurate pricing and charging processes
Client Experience
- Deliver an outstanding, empathetic client journey
- Manage and resolve complaints effectively
- Ensure clear communication, consent, and transparency at all times
Wellbeing & Culture
- Champion a positive workplace culture focused on wellbeing
- Identify and support team wellbeing needs early
- Promote an open and honest environment across the practice
About You
- Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills
- Previous leadership or senior experience within a practice
- Passionate about team development and high clinical standards
- Commercially aware with an understanding of practice performance
- Excellent communicator with a client-first approach
