The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a part-time role in a well-equipped 24-hour hospital?

We’re working with a modern, independent small animal hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit, supportive team. This is a forward-thinking practice providing its own emergency and inpatient care, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to follow your cases through from start to finish.

Located in the “Outdoor City” and close to the Peak District, this role offers a great balance between clinical challenge and lifestyle.

The Role

• Part-time position – up to 20 hours per week
• Flexible 8–10 hour day shifts tailored to your needs
• Participation in a shared out-of-hours rota
• Mix of hospital-based work and occasional sole charge at a nearby branch practice
• Involvement in emergency triage and inpatient care

You’ll be working alongside an experienced and collaborative team, with access to visiting specialists in orthopaedics and cardiology.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of clinical care in a 24-hour hospital setting
• Manage a varied caseload including emergency and inpatient cases
• Provide confident sole charge when required
• Support and mentor less experienced colleagues
• Contribute to a positive and team-focused working environment

Requirements

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Experience in small animal practice
• Confident with sole charge
• Passion for high-quality patient care
• Full UK driving licence
