Twilight Registered Veterinary Nurse – UK

The Role

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-equipped, privately owned practice operating across two sites. This twilight position offers a diverse caseload and the opportunity to work across all areas of the practice, including wards, theatre, and front of house.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care, supporting both patients and clients during evening hours, and ensuring smooth handovers between day and night teams.

Key Responsibilities

Wards

• Provide high standards of inpatient care and monitoring
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Assist with patient handling, IV placement, and blood sampling
• Support patient handovers and discharge processes
• Maintain clean and compliant kennel environments

Theatre

• Monitor anaesthesia and maintain accurate records
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with procedures
• Support diagnostic imaging and surgical set-up
• Ensure equipment is correctly prepared and maintained

Auxiliary / Lab

• Sterilise and prepare surgical instruments
• Run laboratory tests and maintain equipment
• Restock consumables and maintain clinical areas

Front of House / Dispensary

• Handle client queries and support consultations
• Dispense medications and maintain accurate records
• Assist with triage and patient admissions
• Support diary management and clinical workflow

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday only
• No weekends
• 3pm – 11pm or 4pm – 12am

Salary & Benefits

• £28,000-£34,000 Per Year (DOE)
• £2,000 annual twilight bonus

Requirements

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Level 3 Diploma / BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Comfortable working across multiple departments
