Assistant/Associate Professor of Physiology – Veterinary Medicine

Salary Range: $149,864 – $196,539 per year (DOE)
A new College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and is seeking innovative, collaborative educators to help build a forward-thinking veterinary program from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a student-centered curriculum focused on clinical excellence and the evolving needs of the veterinary profession.
Faculty members will work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues to design, develop, and continuously improve courses while mentoring students in a dynamic academic environment.
Primary Purpose
To enhance the knowledge, growth, and development of veterinary students through teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly activity within the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on Physiology.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Development

Deliver lectures and facilitate small group learning sessions in Physiology

Develop, review, and update course materials

Create and evaluate examination questions

Contribute to curriculum innovation and continuous improvement
Research & Scholarly Activity
-
Conduct independent and collaborative research in Physiology or related fields

Engage in research aligned with CVM priority areas (e.g., One Health, Wildlife & Conservation Medicine, Climate Change, Zoonotic Diseases, Public Health)

Mentor veterinary (DVM) and graduate students in research activities

Develop research opportunities suitable for student participation
Service & Institutional Engagement

Participate in Faculty Senate and departmental meetings

Contribute to faculty evaluations and academic committees

Collaborate across departments to support institutional goals
Minimum Qualifications
-
DVM and/or PhD from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
-
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Physiology research

Experience with collaborative, interdisciplinary research initiatives
