About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Practice and Epidemiology to join the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education, research, and professional development of future veterinarians while advancing impactful work in public health and One Health disciplines.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the knowledge, growth, and overall development of veterinary students through teaching, research, and academic service.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Contribution

  • Deliver assigned lectures within the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences
  • Lead and facilitate small group teaching sessions
  • Review, develop, and contribute to course materials
  • Assist in the development and review of examination questions
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality, student-centred learning experience

Research & Scholarly Activity

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in Public Practice and Epidemiology
  • Contribute to key CVM research priorities, including:
    • One Health
    • Wildlife & Conservation Medicine
    • Climate Change
    • Zoonotic Diseases
    • Public Health
  • Develop research projects suitable for veterinary student participation
  • Engage in cross-departmental collaboration across CVM faculty
  • Actively mentor DVM and graduate students in research activities

University & Departmental Engagement

  • Participate in Faculty Senate activities
  • Attend departmental meetings as required
  • Contribute to faculty evaluations
  • Engage in college and university committee service

Candidate Requirements

  • DVM and/or PhD (or equivalent qualification)
  • Board eligibility or board certification preferred
  • Strong interest and/or experience in Public Practice and Epidemiology research
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to contribute to teaching and scholarly activity
  • Collaborative mindset with an interest in interdisciplinary researc
