Veterinary Surgeon – Sunshine Coast Hinterland, QLD
Pomona, QLD, 4568, Australia
Up to $160K + Super | Accommodation Available | Community-Focused Clinic
Are you a confident GP vet who enjoys building real relationships with clients, not just moving through consults?
Looking for a role where you can genuinely own your cases, be part of a close-knit team, and still have the beach and hinterland on your doorstep?
We’re representing a long-standing, independent small animal clinic in the Sunshine Coast hinterland that’s looking for an experienced veterinarian to join their team.
About the Clinic
This is a well-established, community-focused practice that has been part of the local area for over 16 years. Recently taken over by one of the original founders, the clinic continues to maintain a strong reputation with a loyal and engaged client base.
It’s a genuinely supportive environment where:
- Clients know you by name and trust your recommendations
- The team works collaboratively and backs each other
- There’s a strong focus on continuity of care
Over the past 12 months, the clinic has navigated long service leave within the team, and they are now looking to bring in a full-time vet to provide consistency and coverage across the week.
The Role
- Full-time position (ideally 4 full days + Saturday mornings)
- Sole charge 2–3 days per week
- Saturday rota: 8am–12pm (sole charge)
- Typically a 2-vet-per-day clinic
- Mix of consulting, surgery, and medical workups
- Small animal caseload with occasional wildlife triage (referred on)
This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy but still values being part of a team.
What They’re Looking For
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience (not suitable for new grads)
- Confident across:
- General GP consults
- Routine surgery
- Dentals (dental radiography ideal)
- Comfortable with sole charge responsibilities
- A people-focused vet who enjoys building long-term client relationships
- Someone who values being part of a tight-knit community clinic
What’s on Offer
- Salary up to $160K + Super (depending on experience)
- Accommodation available above the clinic (short or long-term options)
- Self-contained flat with kitchen
- Currently shared with one resident cat 🐾
- Supportive transition period with outgoing vet
- Potential visa sponsorship for the right candidate
- A genuinely collaborative, down-to-earth team culture
Location
Set in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, this role offers the kind of lifestyle people move to Queensland for:
Think early morning surf, hinterland hikes, great local cafés, and a proper sense of community. It’s a slower pace, but clinically still engaging and rewarding.

If you’re looking for a role where you can settle in, feel valued, and build strong client relationships while still enjoying everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer, this is well worth a conversation.
