Veterinary Surgeon – Maternity Cover | Nottingham

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a fixed-term opportunity in a supportive small animal practice? This maternity cover role in Nottingham offers a varied caseload, modern facilities, and a genuinely friendly team environment.

The Role

• Fixed-term Maternity Cover Veterinary Surgeon position
• Small Animal practice with a varied and interesting caseload
• 15-minute consultations with protected admin time
• Mix of consulting, routine surgery, and medical case work-ups
• Working 3–4 days per week (8:30am–6:00pm, paid until 6:30pm)
• 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:00pm)
• No out-of-hours or bank holidays

About the Practice

This well-established, practice in Nottingham prides itself on delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a positive and enjoyable working environment. The team consists of 3 Vets, 5 Nurses, a dedicated reception team, and an experienced Practice Owner with over 20 years in the profession.

Facilities include digital x-ray (including dental), ultrasound, ECG, in-house laboratory, laser therapy, and more—supporting thorough diagnostics and case continuity.

About You

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Ideally 3–4+ years’ experience in small animal practice
• Confident in routine surgery and consultations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about animal welfare and clinical standards
• Interest in surgery or medicine welcomed
