The Opportunity
A fantastic ongoing locum opportunity has become available within a well-equipped small animal practice in Oxfordshire.
The practice is looking for an experienced Locum Veterinary Surgeon to support the daytime team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-supported environment with a varied caseload and strong clinical standards.
The Practice
This is a modern, forward-thinking small animal practice with an experienced and collaborative team.
Daily support typically includes:
- 3 Veterinary Surgeons
- 3–4 Registered Veterinary Nurses
The practice has a strong diagnostic focus, with a particular interest in imaging within the team, resulting in a diverse and interesting caseload that includes both routine and emergency presentations.
The Role
The position is ideally suited to a vet who is confident with both consultations and routine surgery.
Typical Duties
- First-opinion consultations
- Routine soft tissue surgery
- Emergency presentations
- Diagnostic work-ups and imaging cases
The rota is generally structured with full operating days or full consulting days, rather than splitting surgery and consults across the same day.
For exceptional candidates with a strong medicine background, a consult-only arrangement may also be considered.
