Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal | Varied Caseload
Salary: Up to £65,000 (FTE, DOE)

A forward-thinking small animal veterinary clinic is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience to join its dedicated and collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a modern, well-equipped environment that prioritises clinical excellence and accessible veterinary care.
The practice provides affordable, high-quality treatment for pets, with a strong focus on managing a varied and often complex caseload, including medical and surgical cases.
The Role
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will be involved in delivering high standards of care across a diverse caseload, primarily involving sick and injured animals. This role offers excellent exposure to both medical and surgical cases, supporting ongoing clinical development.
- Full-time Veterinary Surgeon position
- 4-day working week structure
- Shared weekend rota (limited Saturday cover)
- No excessive hierarchy – collaborative clinical environment
- Mix of consultations, diagnostics, and surgery
- Exposure to advanced procedures and complex cases
Clinical Environment
The practice is fully equipped with modern facilities designed to support a wide range of clinical work, including advanced diagnostics and surgical procedures. The caseload is varied and often challenging, offering excellent opportunities for skill development.
Facilities include:
- Multiple consulting rooms
- Dedicated surgical theatres
- Imaging and diagnostic suite
- Separate cat and dog wards
- Advanced diagnostic capabilities including cardiac scanning
The Ideal Candidate
The practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in general small animal practice and keen to develop within a varied and fast-paced clinical setting.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Be confident with both medical and surgical cases
- Enjoy working within a busy, varied caseload environment
- Be a strong team player with a collaborative approach
