This Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon role in Cardiff offers the chance to work purely emergency cases in a well-supported hospital environment, with a predictable rota, manageable caseload and genuine focus on wellbeing. Perfect for a vet who enjoys emergency and critical care but wants better balance alongside clinical challenge.

Working within a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll have access to excellent facilities, strong clinical support and the opportunity to mentor Veterinary Students in a real-world ECC setting. There are no routine booked appointments, allowing you to focus entirely on urgent and critical cases while delivering high-quality, welfare-led care.

What’s on offer

  • Salary from £63,000 – £76,000 pro rata
  • Permanent part-time position
  • 33.41 hours per week – A typical working pattern will look like the below
  •  Week 1: 7:45 to 08:15 every night Monday to Sunday | Week 2: Off  | Week 3: Off
