An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving small animal practice in Essex. What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality first opinion veterinary care to a varied small animal caseload.
  • Perform routine surgical procedures confidently and independently.
  • Work up medical cases with a strong focus on diagnostics and internal medicine.
  • Provide excellent client communication and customer service.
  • Collaborate closely with a large, experienced team of vets, nurses and support staff.
  • Participate in a shared weekend rota with limited out-of-hours commitments.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • MRCVS registration.
  • At least 3 years' UK small animal veterinary experience.
  • Strong internal medicine and diagnostic skills.
  • Confidence with routine surgical procedures.
  • Ability to undertake occasional sole charge.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • A collaborative and positive approach to team working.

This purpose-built practice is equipped with:

  • Dedicated operating theatres.
  • Digital radiography.
  • Ultrasound.
  • In-house laboratory.
  • Endoscopy suite.
  • CT scanner.
  • Dedicated day and night teams providing 24/7 inpatient care.

Team

  • 13 Veterinary Surgeons, including cert holders
  • 12 RVNS
  • 10 Student Nurses
  • 10 Receptionist 

The practice actively supports professional development and encourages vets wishing to pursue certificates and advanced clinical interests.

Hours & Rota

  • Full-time position across 4 weekdays.
  • 1 in 6 full weekends.
  • 1 in 6 Saturdays only.
  • Part-time applications also considered.
