The Role
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play an integral role within the clinical team, utilising your nursing skills to their full potential across a varied and rewarding caseload.
Key responsibilities include:
- Surgical nursing and anaesthesia monitoring
- Inpatient care and patient monitoring
- Nurse consultations
- Laboratory diagnostics and sample processing
- Assisting with medical and surgical procedures
- Supporting clients throughout their pets’ healthcare journey
- Maintaining high clinical and patient care standards
- Working collaboratively within a friendly and experienced team
This role offers excellent variety, allowing you to fully utilise your nursing skills while continuing to develop professionally.
About the Practice
You'll be joining a well-established independent practice that has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and boasts excellent facilities, including:
- 4 consulting rooms
- Separate dog and cat waiting areas
- Separate dog and cat hospital wards
- Full in-house Zoetis laboratory including Imagyst
- Digital radiography suite with bucky table
- High-quality ultrasound
- Dedicated dental suite with digital dental radiography
- Hospital-standard operating theatre
- Separate preparation room
- Multiparameter monitoring equipment
- Electrocautery and suction equipment
- Comprehensive orthopaedic surgical kit
The clinical team consists of:
- 6 Full-Time Veterinary Surgeons
- 1 Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon
- 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses
- 3 Student Veterinary Nurses/VCAs
- Dedicated support staff
The practice is proud to be both a Vet GDP and Nurse Training Practice, offering excellent mentoring and development opportunities for nurses at all stages of their careers.
You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside:
- A Surgical Certificate Holder
- An Ophthalmology Advanced Practitioner
- Visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology, and advanced imaging

Location & Details
📍 Location: South East London
💼 Employment Type: Full Time or Part Time, Permanent
🕓 Full Time Hours: 36 hours per week
⏰ Shifts: Between 8:00am and 7:30pm (mixture of early and late shifts)
📅 Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am – 12:30pm)
🚫 No Out-of-Hours
💰 Salary: £30,000–£36,000 DOE
